anyone have a chance to get up to crow hill or college rock? I know with this rain it prop a bit soupy, but thinking Sunday afternoon if anyone wants in. Pm me.
Mostly TR, but would love to get my rack dusted off too!
with the rain, college might be a bit wet. i was there on monday and it was pretty dry. the usual spots that seep were still seeping but other than that it was mostly climbable. if you get good weather it will probably be dry by sunday.
College Rock will likely dry off by tomorrow afternoon--except for the usual drainage areas. Crow Hill is a differnt story!!!! Parts of that crag stay wet in a drought. I'm sure some routes will be climbable by Sun, maybe even tomorrow afternoon, but alot will still be 'running' and even the dry ones will likely require a good 'clean'.
Prior to the rain from the last few days there were a few climbable routes at crow. Buttress was dry as was the first pitch of outersite. chimney was damp but safe to climb. All of the popular routes were still waterfalls. Redemption Crag was bone dry and offers some shorter TR routes that are worthwhile.
So heading to college today at 2 gonna bring the kiddos, but if anyone wants a belay or can offer one up I'll be there ready to climb. Probably set up at far right side.
Went to Crow Hill yesterday (Monday) and things were drying out nicely in the usual spots. Fool on a Hill and Butress were both dry. Cro Mag and Jane were a bit damp but climb able. Green Corner was good as well as Chimney and Outersite. Main Face is still a waterfall but Intertwine might be good to go in a week or so if the rain holds off. Boardwalk was climbable as well, with the wetness mostly up top. Certainly enough climbing to make a trip out there worthwhile!
