Here is a first person account (video) of a skier falling into crevasse and subsequent rescue (somewhat tardy as he waited 16 minutes for first contact from above).

Multiple skiers had crossed the same terrain before he fell into the hidden crevasse. He eventually got a helicopter ride out due to leg injuries (and only having one ski left to descend over 2000m back to the valley...)

It is common in Europe to ski un-roped on 4000m glaciers. This appears to have taken place just below Adler Pass (on the descent from Strahlhorn). I do not remember any crevasses in this area when I skied it back in 2013.

He was very fortunate to fall onto a soft snow bridge and to get rescued by a guide and two clients from another group. His ski partners never saw him fall and were already below him when they stopped and could not find him in the slopes.

The partners only realized what was happening once the rescue was in progress...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
