This area is very near tuttle creek lake on Corps land. Small limestone cliffs / outcroppings abound around the whole lake, but this is the only place I've found to be tall enough / long enough and solid enough to be climable. There is some rotten rock near the feet, but it has been cleaned well enough- please do not chip anymore off! At the highest point, the largest outcropping is maybe 9ft, so options are limited, though fun.
Getting There
Dont bother unless you are already in the neighborhood. Tuttle Creek Lake is north of manhattan, ks. From town, go north and take K-13 as if you were going across the dam. Turn left on "tuttle cove road" (before the dam) and go about 2 miles to a small, non residential turn off. Go to the end of the short road and park at the gate. Walk past the gate about 100 yards. There will be some small outcroppings on the left and a short trail going to the biggest, best one. < 1 minute from parking.
