Sarkens were recalled, what, 3 years ago?

Oh well them I assume that the one's I just bought at EMS are OK then...

No assumption needed. That post is 5 years old

From Petzl:

For easy identification, the post recall version has "V2" stamped into the frame (in the center of the forefoot). Any V2 Sarken has structural re-enforcement over the previous version and is more durable.
