Description
Climbing:
A large variety of crags in the area surrounding Coyhaique. A majority of the crags offer good, well bolted sport routes with easy access (assuming you have a car to dive to the crag, or you can hitchhike from town). A lot of the crags offer 2+ pitch sport and/or trad climbs. The local climbing community is very active when it comes to putting up new routes, cleaning routes, and opening new areas. There is even a little local bouldering gym in town that you can climb at for $4,000 Pesos.
Lodging:
There are a number of nice hostels to stay in around town. Some are around $20,000 per night including WIFI, breakfast, and a good place to sleep/hang out.
If you have a tent and are willing to camp it is possible for free or much cheaper than a hostel.
Food:
There are quite a few good places to eat with a large variety of food to chose from. One place in particular , Mama Gauchos, has the best pizza in town, really good salads, beer, and live music a lot of nights.

Fly into Balmaceda airport, get a van for $5,000 Chilean Pesos to Coyhaique.
Climbing:
To get to a lot of the crags around town a car would be useful, but not needed if you are willing to hitchhike (very easy to do in Patagonia). There are some areas that are in walking distance from the center of town, as well as a bouldering gym in town, along with beers, bars, and baths(what more could you need!)
