Quick help!

A buddy and I want to do a scramble, or EASY 5th class tomorrow. Any recommendations?

We were thinking of one of the Olympus ridges, 5.4 or whatever, but didn't want to run into snow up top. The Superior south ridge looks appealing... as it is south facing, but I would guess it might be a little snowy up top as well.

Anything lower? South or West facing unroped half day scramble/climb? Maybe a little more 3rd/4th class adventury?
SLC area.

It snowed all day Saturday. It'll melt off quick, but don't expect dry rock on Olympus or certainly not on Superior.

The last bit of ridgeline on Little Black Mountain is ok third class sharp limestone, and is a pleasant hike. Worth doing if you haven't been up there before. Mostly just a hike though.

Maybe the Millstone Slab or Mineral Slab might be free of snow? Those are fun romps.

Standard Ridge is fun.

Thanks for the ideas! I have always wanted to go up Millstone slab... We'll see how it looks. Standard Ridge might be a semi roped adventure.

I dunno... Little Black Mountain might be like class 3d X... looks super dura. But could be a good walk. Never done it before. May as well before it gets hot! Good recommendations gang!

Mind isn't made up yet if anyone else has any ideas.

Look into Geurts Ridge on Olympus. I would be surprised if it is not dry and I think it is super fun. There are a 2 notches that you can rap into but you can easily down climb into them instead of rapping.

We did Millstone Slab. Actually really fun! Thanks for the Recommendation. Totally blew it on the descent though. Went too high and had to bush whack down some prickly bush nonsense. Geurts Ridge and such are on the list.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
