hi all,

I am travelling from Boulder to my friend's wedding in Antibes (very close to Nice). Then staying for climbing, I will have a car and guide book ... a Swiss friend may be joining.

Have you climbed in the area? do you have advice?

Will you be there and want to join?

Hey Braulio, I'm getting into Milan on October 1st and will have from then until Oct 5th to do whatever I want, was thinking of climbing in Finale Ligure but have no partner and no plan, so I'm definitely interested in meeting up. Any specific crags you're going to?

I used to live in Vieux Antibes and would climb at La Turbie which is above Monaco. Excellent limestone and of course afterwards we would head to the beach.

As mentioned above Finale is not too far away. Going the other way is Verdon. Which I would recommend over the Calanques - as a friend used to say I liked to climb at the Calanques but do not feel like getting my car broken into. Not sure if that is still the case but either way not leave anything in your car that can be seen (and do not be seen leaving something even if it is in the boot as people watch parking lots).

there are sooo many places Nick - check how feasible it would be for you to get to Nice from Milano (it should be relatively close and there most be trains) ...

it's possible to climb trad by the Mediterranean or rappel down to a gorge to climb sports ! :)

hey Allen,

Thanks for the tips - as I understand security is much better nowadays ... let's see.

If you have any friends in the area, that would like to climb those dates ... I would happily join them :)

Verdon would be amazing - need to check how far it actually is, I really want to minimize the driving ...

Most of my French climbing friends are scattered about. As for the Gorge du Verdon, it, Finale Ligure, and the Calanques are about the same time wise from Antibes just different roads. For all, bring lots of quick draws and a long rope.

The verdon is about 2.5 hours on toll roads and windy ass tiny highways from Nice. Take twins for the verdon, lotsa draws and a small rack.

Climb in Monaco near nice, or go to marseilles and climb in les calanques.

Braulio, I will send you a PM. I can either drive or train it to Nice, easy from Milano.
There's a chance I may try and fly to Mallorca or Sardinia but this seems like it may be a better option.

Cool, Nick ... Mallorca is amazing! - although already too cool for deep water soloing, but I have heard that there are crags in land that are really worth.

Hi again Nick, Are you bringing gear? When would you decide if you want to come down to Nice?

Hi Nick, yes .. I am defining plans, therefore I have not yet answered. When do you need to know more details?

As soon as possible, its only a couple weeks away haha!! Otherwise I need to make a plan to head to Portugal or somewhere else I have business partners....

I sent you a message Nick, we will be heading to Verdon and Les Calanques - now I am figuring out camping/Gittes ...
