Description

There is some excellent climbing on this formation, which splits the upper reaches of the south fork of Black Velvet Canyon. Most notably, this is the location of Sick for Toys, one of Red Rock's best slab climbs.

Getting There

Follow the main Black Velvet Wall approach to the base of Epinephrine. Continue up the canyon for another 2 or 3 hundred yards past Epineprine. The formation dividing the canyon at this point is Corduroy Ridge. To reach most of the climbs, continue up the wash for another 2 or 3 hundred yards to a beautiful slabby area on the left.

Here, take the right branch up the wash along the north side of Corduroy Ridge. About two or three hundred yards past the white slab, the canyon widens and there is a large beautiful slab on the left side. Sick for Toys is the thin fi...[more]   Browse More Classics in NV
