cordless hair dryer ??

Anyone try a cordless hair dryer for drying off holds?

I am seriously thinking this may help.

Russ- I have never tried a cordless hair dryer but a couple of years ago I organized an outdoor bouldering comp and the week of the comp our area was hit hard by Hurricane Irene leaving everything soaking wet. I hit the main boulder field the day before the comp with half a dozen climbers equipped with leaf blowers and towels and we were able to dry everything up pretty easily...just another option.

If done properly it doesn't have any effect on the rock at least not the ones here in the North East. . . it only needs to heat up enough for the moisture to evaporate (which in colder temps is very little). If you are significantly heating the rock you absolutely can damage it.

like you said "properly", the problem is the average intelligence of the common boulderer

That would be pretty sick to carry around a blower and get busy no matter what the weather.
