Andrew Tower entering the crux on Cool Thing.

Description This route is across the creek from Anarchy Wall. Hardly ever done, this route packs quite a punch for the 12c it's given in both guides. Start with a big or tricky move to good holds and move up to the third bolt on good holds, then head up the meat of the route with no opportunities for rest until you clip the chains. There's a bit of a runout between the third and fourth bolt (that's why I give it a PG-13, especially while hanging draws), so be attentive here.
Location This route is by itself across the creek from Anarchy Wall. From the parking lot, look directly across the creek and identify the arête that is Cool Thing.
Protection 6 bolts, bolted anchor.

Just wondering who else has done this thing...seemed ridiculously sandbagged at 12c, so wanted to post it and see if others agree. It's probably on par with things like Finger Prince, Chaos, etc. If anyone has a differing opinion on the grade, then enlighten us all.

Nice, Adam. I never made it over there, so had little clue of the grade as well. Is the water low right now? Or ice bridge?

The water is super low and temps have been in the 70s for a while. Really great route though! More people should wade over there and do this thing.

Went over and checked this rig out yesterday, very very fun climbing, surprised it has not gotten more attention. It is chalked and cleaned and fun, as for the grade, it's probably 12d soft 13a, which is awesome.

Sweet! Nice, Matt, I agree, more people should definitely go climb on this thing. The rock quality is great, especially for not ever seeing any action and the movement is really fun. One of those hidden, obscure gems in CCC.
