Ladd Raine and Sam Todzia sussing out some beta.

Description

This area is on either side of the road, Bible rock proper is on the left side from the parking area, while a lot of other boulders are on the other side about 5-10 minutes walk.

Bible Rock is where I have experience and therefore that is what I'll describe.

The area is gritstone-esque with many little edges that crumble and break when used without caution. The bouldering relies upon good smearing technique squeezing features and big moves between good holds. Beware the topouts in general because many of them have scary downclimbs.

Getting There

Thank you nickv for the contribution.

Bible rock is in 7 falls Park in Middle Hamden. From rt 9 take the Aircraft road exit. Take a right at the light onto Saybrook rd. Follow for about a mile and park is on the left after the powerlines.

Thanks Mobes, the area is commonly called Seven Falls, and the link to the guide is from the Weslean Mountain Club-

I have a friend that lives in Middletown & did some research for possible climbing during my visit & found Bible Rock. I took these pictures for my own beta but am more than happy to share them with others if it'll help anyone. These pictures were taken in Sept. of '08.

I hike around there one day and it was amazing. 20 or 30 good sized boulders, many steep. A steep wall that was 40+ feet long. Unfortunately the rock quality was chossy except on a few boulders I saw. I would be interested in knowing what has been going on there.
