Got rained off Birds of Fire yesterday 25JUN06, but what we did do of the route was great. Conditions were great until the clouds moved in but all in all the wall is dry. Took a whipper on the mantle after crux of P3, doh, but got it 2nd try. I can imagine bolting pitches 1,2,3,(5,6) on lead, at home watching TV after a few beers, wow. Thanks Richard Rossiter, you're the man.

Thanks for the update Ross, heading up there this weekend for some Birds of Fire action....good to hear it's not seepin.

Can the raps be done with 50m ropes?

Glad to hear you consider BOF a sport climb.......guess it is bolted after all right?

Hi Kevin,
We rapped with 60m, I'm not sure about 50m. There is quite a bit of discussion traffic on the route in mountainproject, I'd suggest you check that out. Take gear, I used RP's too.

You mean I have to place protection!!!!!! What kind of sport climb is it???

Just kidding, and I did check out the climb after posting the message.

Glad you had a good time up there.
