okay so i am about to finish off my rack so it is a complete single rack from 000 C3 to #4 C4.

i was wondering if i should skip the #2 C3 and get the #0.3 C4 which covers more range. or should i just say screw it and get both so them my rack is complete to #4 C4?

i also was wondering what haul bag i should get since i dont plan on doing many over nights should i save the money and get the BD stubby or spend the extra 50$ and get the Touchstone?

Get the #2 C3 instead of the .3 C4. It fits in a lot more places due to its narrow head width.

Also, you would be better off getting doubles in fingers to hands sizes than getting the tiny C3s, and maybe the #4 C4. You will use them a lot more. This does depend on where you climb, just general advice.

hey thanks the thing is i was looking at the C3's because i dont have much TCUS but should i go with 0,1,2 C3s and doubles in .75, 1, 2 C4'

TCUs are important, but you won't start relying on the really small stuff until you start pushing the grades, and you will want doubles of the common sizes before then.

I would get doubles of C4 .5, .75, 1, and 2, and C3 1 and 2. The next step will be C3 0, double of C4 3, and C4 4.

How small do you go in the C4's? Rather than double the .5 and .75 C4's, i'ld look at the 3 and 4 tcu's. They're roughly the same size in use and give you more placement options and are lighter if you want doubles. I'd consider a size equivalent for the #1 (maybe a mastercam?) just for variety.

My base rack is TCU/C3 1-4, a purple alien (roughly #1C4) and C4's .3-3. It's alot, but it's roughly doubles in up to #1 C4. I add in the 0, 00 and #4 if i'm expecting it to be thin or wide.

I use the .3 and .4 all the time. In use, the .3 feels between the 1 C3 and 2 tcu, and the 2tcu feels close to the .4. (2 C3 should be close to 2tcu). The range's spec'd on those seem to disagree with me, the 2 is bigger than the .4, but that's how they work for me. I can understand the complaint about the head width on the small C4's, but they usually fit for me where i climb, and i learned with them.

Can you say, 'tri-cams'?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
