Anyone bouldered here? Thoughts? Comments?

Best problems?

also, is there anywhere to rent a crashpad? or are the landings good enough that you don't need one?

You need to be more specific about "Columbia" considering there are many towns in the US named Columbia and there is a whole country. People may not know what you are referring to.

The bouldering in Columbia is awesome. Crazy marble formations with great movement and incredible friction. You definitely want a crash pad (or two) and keep an eye out for poison oak. Also, it would be worth picking up the guidebook as it's a somewhat complicated area to navigate. Have fun!

Columbia is amazing. The two areas that you really should check out are the main area of the Labyrinth and the lower Arboretum. Depending on your grade range, one or the other may be a better fit, although the problems are classic in both areas. Be prepared to get shut down, as the style is unique, and in different ways technical and burly. The guide is a good idea (and a steal at 7 dollars), but you should be aware that it may take several tries to find an area, and you will probably get lost, even with guide in hand. The one area for which this is not an issue is the Lower Arb, due to the closely concentrated nature of the problems. Classics include: The Scoop and The Minotaur in Labyrinth main, Sloper Rail, and The Prow in the State Park, Falkenstein Crack, Gold Wall, Triple Cracks, Lobster Claw, all the Lower Arb. I've also heard good things about Grave of the Underpants, and Aries Curse, but I never found the former and am too weak to pull on the latter.
