Fiendishly clever. But you're still a thread terrorist.

Ok, I'm gonna head out of Denver early so I can get to Castlerock ~4:30. Hope to see some of you there. Otherwise, afterward, UPSTAIRS at the Dark Horse

Still up...regardless of the gray chill? If so I'll be there. Need any big cams or a rope?

No way, it's cold out there. I'll see you at the dark horse but I'm not desperate enough to climb in the cold.

My plan for the rest of the year is to climb in a T-shirt until I'm swinging tools.

Castle will be cold, so I guess I won't be shocked if we see that crew earlier than in the past tonight.

Ghostride da whip!

It's probably going to be cold, but I'm going to head up because it sounds like at least a couple of people are going. I sent some PM's to you guys, call me if you plan to bail.

You'll be warm when you come down- you can't burn 6000 calories without creating heat. Plus- more clothes = better on those two routes.
See you later. I'll have beers waiting for people who make it clean.

Stats:

  • 3:45 (6PM- 9:45PM) of drinking beer, eating burgers, talking rock, telling dirty jokes, and watching (___ahem____) get $#%&-faced and do animated immitations of someone typing out a drunken post...
  • 23 People in Total. 19 Posters, 2 lurkers, 2 noobs.
  • 10 Pitchers + ??? individual pints bought - at least 4 I saw (Glad there were designated drivers)
  • 5 people went climbing up at Castle Rock for Jim Bissel's tuesday night "Umph Slot Assault", but did Coffin Crack and By Gully instead... as Umph has been worn out by now.
  • Oldest Climber: Malcom Daily
  • Tallest Climber: Tim Davis
  • Loudest Climber: (OK, I admit it- I also got gimpiest)
  • Quietest climber: Tie: Wendy and Joby
  • Longest Distance to get there: Andy and Wendy (Jackson Hole)

Good times. Sorry a few folks didn't show, cause it would have been an even harder record to beat in the future.

Good to see some old peeps, and meet some new ones! Let's have some kind of regional gathering (like in the olden days). Anyone interested? Ideas?

You can love your rope but you can't "LOVE" your rope

Some classic quotes from last night:

Malcolm: "This isn't #$&*%ng chicken wings!"

And my favorite; a Bubb/micahisaac exchange:

Tony: "I know a lot of shit!".
Micah: "That's great Tony! When I need to know some shit I will ask you!".

Thanks to (____ahem____) for the entertainment and the introduction to Urban Dictionary. I am in touch now!

Lee, you left out some details there:

That was followed by a comment about sport climbers.

Think the comment was more about "wierd shit" not shit in general. Can't remember the exact phrase. No less, Micah got me pretty good.

My personal Favorite was Ben Faber, who was busting my balls about something and tellign people about putting rocks in my pack, which was funny, because he actually did it to Chris Parks, not me, and now has more karma...
Anyway, I told him I could bust his balls back if he wanted, but what I was going to say would be true... SO in good sport, I asked him if he wanted to back down, or for me to say what I had in mind?

He squinted and stared for a minute, then cocked his head and rolled his eyes and said "you win- I got too many skeletons" and poured another beer. Ben is a good sport. I was mostly bluffing anyway.

Given the time of year, maybe SHELF would be a good place? I know its sport climbing, but we could get the most people there and have the best weather of the season.
Vedauwoo might be good if it's not too cold.
I think it would also be cool to organize a contingent for events such as the Ouray Ice Fest (share hotels, rides, ropeguns for gumbys like myself).
If enough people are down, I'd be willing to organize a trip this fall... so whatcha ya'll think?

What was your excuse Lee?!? too many French fries?

For future MP Beer Nights, it would be most excellent if no one had to drive. Then there would be a bunch of (___ahems___) getting $h!t faced!

I predict the post between mine and Tim Stich's is gone by 9:00 am...except maybe not now that I've observed and interfered, ala Heisenberg :)

EDIT: Ha, Kateri, you're hanging in there. I thought this post was rowdier than some of your delicate d-letes :)
