BETA PHOTO: Gold Digger. This is to the left of the old Eureka...

Description

Well bolted face climbing. Pretty clean. Mostly full pitches as I recall. Rappel the route to descend - use two 60' ropes to be safe (don't recall if you can get away w/ 50' m ropes). Grade II or III (depending on your comfort level).

I first learned of this route after seeing this article http://www.climbing.com/exclusive/features/245gold/ by Durango climber, Jared Ogden. He listed this route as a Grade III.

Location

The Eureka Pillar is located to the lookers left of the deep canyon by the old mill at the old Eureka mining settlement.

Protection

TBA.

The pitch in the picture is the first pitch of Hardrock Miner, 5.7, bolts. Golddigger is the original route on the wall which traversed into the ledge from the left and then climbed the corner to the right of the face. Trad.
