Greg Floyd on lead.

Description

This is a nice, sport route up the middle of the second buttress of Mt Thoridin about 1 pitch up. Hike about 1 hour from Panorma Point dropping into the drainage and then angling cross-country to the crag.

P1. Approach via 1st pitch of Papal Bull/Mr. Misty and angle in from the L to the start or via 1st pitch of Pope on a Rope 5.8 and angle in from the R to the start OR rappel in from the top of the crag with 2 ropes.

P2. Dance up a nice, less-than-vertical slab past 8 bolts. Decipher a thin crux between the 5th and 6th bolts.

Rap twice 100 feet and 160 feet or climb to the top of the crag with natural pro.

Protection

Standard rack, 60m rope nice, doubles to rappel.

Peeking at P. Hubbel's guidebook (after doing the route): Suggested rating here 11a/b. Seemed less than an 11-, but it was a while back....

It is possible to rap off this route with one 60m rope. While the ends of the rope won't reach the ground, they do reach a low-angle slab that is easy to downclimb.
