Kristie midway up Dizzy!!

Description

This is a subarea created for better organization. It will include routes below the lower bridge down to the Scottish Gully, By Gully. Obviously, with an ice park, the routes will vary with spigot proliferation.

For the time being, these routes will include Escape Clause to Dizzy Curtain.

Some of these routes utilize bolt anchors on rocks which can be buried under the snow.

This area is subject to heavy doses of sunshine on Colorado days, so be prepared to tan.

This too is a very popular area. On popular weekends, it can be hard to find an open anchor or line, so beware!

Getting There

Hike up to the ice park, or drive and park. Consider parking at the lower end of the parking area. Then go downhill from the lower bridge. In this section, there are routes on the east side of the gorge, too. Most folks will rappel into these routes, but some folks have allegedly hiked down from the east side of the gorge.

This is a fine route. Clipping the 3rd bolt is a bit spicy but you are on good holds so stick with it. Depending on how the ice forms it can be a piece of cake or a sting in the tail at the top. This route is very pumpy for the grade and fairly tecnical at the mid section....[more]   Browse More Classics in CO
