Hi all -

I just launched a new version of ClimbingWeather.com. This includes a completely re-designed site and a number of new features.

Check it out at:
climbingweather.com

The new features include:

- United States Climbing Area Weather Map (zoom in for more areas)

- Monthly Average Graphs

- Improved Search

I'm also working on an Android mobile app that should be out in the next few weeks.

I'm always seeking feedback and suggestions for improvements. I will always strive to keep this service fast and ad-free.

Thanks!

Jon

P.S. If you are into the Facebook thing, check out the Facebook page

Yours give a completely different forecast than I get here for Cannon, NH: intellicast.com/Local/Weath…

Where do you get your data from? I'll have to keep track of which one is more accurate. New England might be the ultimate test.

Looks stellar! I will be interested to see how accurate it is over time. Also, why are there no averages for RMNP? I assume it's just not all loaded yet?

@sunder: I'll check out the background image issue in IE7

@msprague: The forecast that I use for Cannon Cliff is at 4000 feet elevation - franconia is at more like 1000 feet. The data comes form the National Weather Service digital forecast model - accurate to latitude and longitude (w/i a mile or so).

@wehling: I'll pull some averages for RMNP. I use the nearest weather station - may have been a glitch there when I determined the nearest station.

I looked all over the site for a forum where climbers could cut each other up over their choice of micro cams and talk about why this or that route should or should not be bolted or why Obama is awesome or sucks..... no luck..... What' a all that weather stuff for?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
