Climbing/other suggestions Park City
|
Would love to hear climbing or other suggestions on things to do around Park City. I will be visiting the first week of July with my family (wife, son 3.5 years, daughter 6 months and mom). Hoping to climb 2-3 days and spend some time enjoying the area with the family. |

Uintas or drop down to SLC. There's really no climbing in/near Park City, per se. |

Yep look up the uintas on here or big and little cottonwood. The search feature should be able to help you pic out some good routes. Just realize the north side of little cottonwood(south facing) will be roasting in the sun most of the day. |

See: Parley's Canyon Climbs closer than BCC and LCC and you can set up top ropes for the kiddies. |

I wouldn't recommend Parleys as little kid friendly. Not the approach, the hang, or the routes. Also gets a fair bit toasty in the summer with not much escape from the heat. If the creek is down in BCC, Beachball is nice. Mountain biking in PC and Deer Valley is a super idear! |

Great! Thanks for the responses so far. I sorta new that there was no climbing in Park City and was planning on LCC and or BCC. Any routes suggestions anyone would care to make ie can't miss this one? Or shady areas of LCC? Or shady close by areas in general? |

Pentapitch in LCC is a north facing moderate classic. Industrial wall next to Pentapitch is great sport-cragging. Plan on early starts and finishes though or you'll cook. Uintas for all day cragging |

Hey Jeff, |

Check out dogwood in bcc too. Easy approach, top rope(or easy lead) on moderates, and you can belay with your feet in the water. And if you get bored there's .11 through a .13 on the east side for ya. There always seems to be families there, especially when I'm trying to send something :) |

Ok...sounds like in LCC Pentapitch, Coal Pit Buttress, etc (stuff on the maybe shady side).. BCC - Dogwood and Beachball Crag maybe Dam Wall (storm mtn), Steorts Ridge. Uintas. Maybe Ferguson Canyon. Ride bikes, eat ice cream...and... |

For little kids, the Mosquito Wall would be hard to beat in the Uintahs. |
