Any one try the La Sportiva SCORPION shoes. I am thinking of buying a pair for my girlfriend. She is looking for a all around shoe but will be aggressive enough for bouldering.

It looks like it's a lace-up version of the Mantis. If so, it's fairly middle-of-the-road. Decent enough edging, decent enough smearing. Okay toe-pointing, okay hooking. Not excellent at any of those, but okay at all of them.

Not a "specialist" shoe - so it will do just about anything decent enough.

That being said, the primary requirement is "FIT". Any shoe that fits right will climb better than a specialist shoe that doesn't fit. (IMHO)

I've seen people sending V9 in Mythos and Pitons, and even Madrock Frenzy and Phoenix.

But yes, it will boulder if that is the primary question.
