I recently bought a BD Focus Speed harness and was wondering why they designed the gear loops the way they did...check out http://www.bdel.com/gear/focus_speed.php See how they point up, rather than down.

As I climb more in the harness they're starting to sag more and more, and maybe that's how they're intended to be 'broken in' - after a while they'll hang more like traditional harness designs?

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else has the same harness and/or has seen this design before.

Well, when they have gear on them, they hang downwards...if there's no gear, they aren't in your way because they point up. Makes sense to me.
