Is it possible to climb in Red Rocks without a car? I'll be flying into McCarran International airport. Thanks

Sure, it's possible, but it would be pretty impractical.

The main road is a 13 mile loop, the entrance of which is about 25 miles from McCarran.

If you could get to the loop road you would be "close-ish" to some climbing, but even with a car, approaches are pretty long for a lot of the classic routes. Not that much is located right next to the road.

Oh, and a lot of really good climbing (Black Velvet Canyon for example) isn't even located on the loop road!

Red Rocks is huge! Pretty hard to take a Yosemite style approach there, unfortunately

Coming in without a car and without a partner is a tough way to visit Red Rock.

Yeah, you can go without a car. It's definitely a little harder, but as Chris said, if you make it to the campground you can definitely meet people. As for getting to the campground, Vegas has a bus system. If you take it out towards Summerlin/Red Rock Casino, you can easily walk to the campground.

I have a partner already. Going without a car does seem quite difficult though. What are weather conditions typically like near the end of December? Thanks

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
