Hello everyone.

I am looking for someone from Maine in the Acadia area or anyone who will be there over the next few weeks who would be willing to show me around to some good climbing spots. I am going on a trip for work and I will be there from June 2nd-22nd give or take a few days and I have Sundays off guaranteed as well as some days after work if I have enough time to get down to Acadia while there is still some light left over. I enjoy bouldering the most by far but I am also very interested in sport climbing even though I have limited experience in this area. I have never lead trad, but I have followed and cleaned a few times so I would be willing to check out some good trad lines as a follow if that is your cup of tea and you are looking for a partner! I am going to try and bring my climbing pad which is a Black Diamond Mondo pad, so I could climb on my own if needed, but I find it much better with someone who knows the area so that I can get the maximum amount of climbing in with minimal wandering and searching for the routes. Please get back to me as soon as possible as I am super stoked to come out to Acadia for my first time! I look forward to hearing from any climbers interested in showing me the way around Acadia.

Thanks,

Cory

There is an excellent new guidebook out for Acadia now which might be worth checking out.... Though I don't know if it covers bouldering. I am not aware or any sport climbing on the island other than Great Head but it is totally worth checking out! Good luck. I probably won't get out there till August or September.

I checked out the new guidebook while browsing through a few climbing stores in the Bar Harbor area and I found that it covers trad climbing in the area almost exclusively. Bouldering in the area was not ideal, but I did end up finding some good short stuff in the Monument Cove area! I plan on posting a few of the pictures/videos I took next chance I get.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
