Hey there,

I will be in Colorado in mid-April and my mother and I will be heading to Colorado Springs.

I'm curious as to what will likely be the best climbing in the area at the time, I'm mostly a trad climber but will climb sport as well if it's what is best in the area. Will be my first trip to Colorado so not 100% sure what to expect, but excited to check it out. Primarily looking for shorter multipitch or cragging. What do you guys think?

Also, will be looking for partners then...MP best spot to do it?

C Springs is a good location. Lot's of possibilities close to town: Turkey Rock area for trad. Red Rock Canyon and Garden of the Gods parks for in-town sport. Shelf is an hour away. Eleven Mile is 45 min away and offers sport & trad.

+1 on Turkey Rocks (Eldo is an hour and a half closer but I'm willing to make the drive because there's no better place for crack climbing short of Indian Creek). The South Platte in general is vast, scenic, and has good rock quality and great views. Elevenmile Canyon is also decent and not too far.

Ditto what Ross said. South Splatte can be good also depending on snow conditions. Cheyenne Canon, although certainly not a destination spot has some ok climbs. Red Rocks is sport climbing, Garden of the Gods trad & sport but lots of tourists unless you climb on Grey Rock. Both GOG & RROS are sandstone.11 mile might be the best bet. It's a straight shot on 24 out of the Springs.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
