Well after years of to many hobbies was stationed in West Virginia and my 5 year climbing hiatus ended I have climbed since I was 9 with my parents single pitch trad sport and top rope now I'm 30 I own my own gear and loved being twenty minutes from Franklin Gorge and an hour from Seneca I received new orders and even though I really wanted California I ended up in Gulfport Mississippi. So I try to get to the gym at least once a week and am trying to get out to HP 40, Palisades or Sand Rock for a weekend. Tuff with a one year old anyways just got Masters of Stone 3 and 4 from my wife and I Ordered valley uprising and am just looking for opinions on other greats to order I want DVDs to take on my deployments so that's a must so what are some more great climbing vids. Thanks

Thanks for all the suggestions I'll look into getting the rest of the masters of stone series and getting the other that where mentioned.

Advice: do not watch the first two while sober. Have fun laughing your ass off!

Personal fave climbing movie was by Clint: The Eiger Sanction.

He even climbed some of the scenes. It is inspiring and helped get me into climbing while I was in the Corps.

I really enjoyed..

Progression
The Sharp End
Committed Vol II

and +1 for the sufferfest 1&2, less so for the climbing, and more because Alex and Cedar seem like pretty awesome guys.

Watch sufferfest! The second one is worth buying on vimeo. It will totally inspire you to claim an awesome climbing goal.

I'd recommend the Johnny Copp film, "Splitter, an alpine rockumentary"

the early sender films had a pretty big influence on me as well

Absolutely love Rampage... it is an oldie, but a goodie. Super classic!

Good advice but...

When Cliffhanger came out six of us climbers went to see it. We were snickering and jabbing each other in the ribs from the opening credits.

Old Sly using the bolt-gun got a too-loud "What the fuck?!" which made others in the audience turn and look at us disparagingly. But when the harness buckle melted, we all broke out laughing uncontrollably, much to the disgust of the non-climbers in the audience, who thought that was an inappropriate response to a cute girl falling 2000' to her death.

So I can attest that alcohol isn't necessary ;-)

Surprised no one mention "Hard Grit"; "Blood, Sweat, & Bagels"; and "Free Heuco". Classics!

Wow, no mention of North Face (Nordwand) that's my all time favorite.

Also Nanga Parbat was a good watch too. Quite tricky to find though. Thank you!

I really enjoyed the second one, the first one was good to. Sufferpup was very cute.

In regards to other flicks, I'd check out "Wideboyz" with Pete Whitaker and Tom Randall, and even "Wideboyz II"
