Are there any outdoor climbing areas in China near Shanghai, or Hong Kong, or the Zhangjiajie area?
Looking for anything outside using a rope. Sport/Trad/top rope.

Hong Kong is full of great climbing, 90% accessible by public transportation. Check out hong Kong Climbing.

Yahoo Group has a Shanghai climbing group that is very active. Some new crag and whole new areas have recently been discovered and developed.

Guangzhou has a nice but small crag on Bayun Mountain. (Behind the tennis courts)About 20 routes from 5.8 to 5.12

An hour and a half from Guangzhou is 9 Dragons. I'll give you better directions in the near future.
