So I'm going to be in DC for a couple days in July and was wondering a couple things.
1. Is there any places to deep water solo in the area?
2. Any outdoor spots to boulder at?
3. And if there is any decent climbing gyms with an emphasis on bouldering?

sportrock and earth treks have great gyms near DC. Great bouldering.

1. No.

2. Yes, some here.
Also check MP's database for Caderrock (MD) and Great Falls (VA).

3. Yes. Earth Treks in Rockville. Huge bouldering area with tall walls. If you don't have a car, this place is still accessible by Metro transit.

My advice: see the city and enjoy it for what there is (the history, the architecture, the memorials, the Smithsonian, your tax dollars at work, etc).
If you have an itch to climb, go to one of the two gyms that you can access via the Metro: either Earth Treks or Sport Rock. Don't waste your time searching for natural climbing that really isn't here in the first place.

Carderock, off the C & O canal offers bouldering and tr'ing.

The outdoor climbing at Great Falls and Carderock is crowded on the weekends.

Earth Treks in Rockville however is worth a visit. I've taken friends from all over to ET. They've been really impressed with the quality.

Consider extending your stay and check out Summersville Lake near Fayetteville, WV. 5.5 hrs from DC.

+1 Coopers is a great place to boulder. The only problem is it's 3.5 hours from DC
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
