Hey all!

I'm visiting OSU at the end of the month, and have Saturday open to go climbing! I just need to be back in Portland by Saturday night/Sunday morning for an early flight.

I'm from the east coast (RRG - Kentucky) and have never been to Oregon before; I'd like to check out the climbing in the area because it'll be what keeps my sanity through graduate school!

I have experience in all types of rock except big wall, and haven't done ice. I guided for a bit and I can give a sssiiiccckkk belay :P

I need to find out by the middle of next week whether I'm going climbing - otherwise I need to sign up for a graduate retreat that day.

I hope to hear from the North-westerners and look forward to seeing the area!

Not a lot around OSU. Some minor bouldering, and a few lame cliffs. Your best bet is 2.5 hours to Smith Rock (world class vertical rock) or 1.75 hours to Portland, which has a fair amount of good climbing, both sport and trad.
I live about 20 min from OSU, and typically go to Portland for climbing, and Smith Rock less frequently. Unfortunately, I'm busy the 28th, or I'd take you out climbing for the day!

Micah,

Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind! I think I've only got the time to head to Portland, so I'll be in that area. I'll PM you for more info!
