A quick question - will cell phones work at the City of Rocks climbing area (or in Almo)? If so which companies?

There are a couple of areas out in the City that I can get coverage. The main one is on the road overlooking parking lot rock and creekside. It is a highpoint on the road. Mine works in Almo I have Sprint and Verizon in the past, both have worked.

A T & T has a relatively new cell tower right above Almo, so their service from town and adjacent areas is excellent. I'm told by friends who have another carrier that they get uneven to crappy connections while I'm doing fine.
Up in the City proper is a crapshoot for most of us... have had a perfect connection on top of the Breadloaves, but then on other high formations, nothing... then, the next day, a connection from Bath Rock... so, that's what I've experienced the last couple of years.
Carrier pigeons have a very solid track record going back centuries. Some technologies are hard to improve on.

With Sprint, Snowville is my last call coming from SLC.

We have a small group going out this summer - good stuff to know. Thanks!

I get solid and strong 4G with AT&T in Almo and inside of Castle Rocks. Once I head up into the City, I typically lose it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
