Do people have general advice about climbing then (especially w.r.t. the weather)? Any special stuff I should bring or route recommendations? Thanks, Paul
Could be great weather for climbing. But be prepared for snow...potentially lots of it. I have been chased out of Titcomb Basin by feet of snow in early September. If you didn't have the right clothes and gear for that, it could be, eh, unpleasant.
The first snow usually flies around labor day, plus or minus a week, but that storm is also 'usually' sandwiched between long dry spells with perfect weather. If you are in the middle of a long high pressure it can be perfect and no bugs and fewer people.
We have a trip planned to the Cirque starting next weekend and were wondering if anyone had been up there in the last week or so and could provide information on conditions. Thanks.
