Was hoping to plan a trip up to climb in WY for the month of September, the guide book I have says climbing season ends in sept for the Cirque. Was hoping for 1.5 weeks in the cirque and the same at the Tetons. Would this be a waste of time come Sept?
It's a risky plan. You may get some nice weather, but the mountains usually get their first major snowfall sometime in September. The AAC Climbers' Ranch closes for the season on Sept 12.
It could go either way--you might have wonderful weather, but you could get an early storm too. I was in Titcomb Basin in mid-September and had gorgeous weather. . . if a bit chilly.
I went up to the Tetons 2 Labor Days ago and wasn't able to attempt a traverse after a storm came through and laid a sheet of snow/ice on the range. The rangers made it sound like that wasn't out of the ordinary for the area.

Less bugs in the cirque, and a lot less people at both, but you have a chance of getting skunked. The earlier in September you go the better
