Chunky Monkey follows the line of fixed draws.

Begin on vertical face, continue up to an overhanging bulge with a dyno between two good horizontals, and finish on "brainy" face above. Traverse right to a crack after pulling onto the face above the final small roof.

Obvious bulging face with bolts.

Bolted with anchors on the top. Consider stick clipping the first bolt.

First ascent included Porter Jarrard and was in May 1990. I always thought the name was Chunky Monkey. This is one of the absolute best 5.12b's at the New.

I too believe the name is Chunky Monkey. Also mentioned here - www.newriverclimbing.net/re-bolting-program
