Chiang Rai is a small city in Northern Thailand with a population of about 70,000 people (2012 census).

The rock climbing scene here is small but growing due to the success and constant growth of the climbing community of Chiang Rai's sister city, Chiang Mai.

Getting There Suggest change

You can get to Chiang Rai either by airplane or bus depending on your needs/budget. Chiang Rai does have an international airport, so flying in is usually the easiest way. Travelling by VIP bus is also quite comfortable and cheap.
