Cold day at Smug's
$20 for two adults and $5 for each extra adult

I've stayed here once and it was fine. I've also stayed at Creekside, but I think it might be a little more expensive and not any closer or any nicer. As far as I know, free camping is pretty hard to come by around there.

There's always the nearest Walmart parking lot..there is one in Hendersonville about 30 minutes away.

If you don't mind driving the 30 minutes from Brevard, Pisgah has free camping all over the place. You could do one day at Looking Glass and another at the Bald. The Bald is still not in season right now. There are a lot of chiggers, reptiles, and ivy lingering. TomCaldwell
