Seven months ago I started working on a project I assumed would only take a couple weeks or a month at most. It's been hundreds of hours of work later, but I'm glad to finally show this Billings Montana character piece, "Charlie."
Since this is a homegrown story, the premiere will take place where all Billings climbers find themselves at some point or another—Steepworld. Jim Rott, Joel Anderson, Dillon Key, and the Steapteam board are heading up the event which should fall in a sweet succession of past exposés involving beer, good times, and picture slideshows of our Rimrock adventures.
This project was equal parts hard work from everyone involved and luck. As the months went on a three act story emerged for the film to document. What once started as a challenge for Charlie to climb the hardest Boulder project in town, soon became a more intriguing and entertaining character piece about a High Schooler blessed with both incredible strength and equal parts humility.
On a more personal note, this project represents my first notable attempt in nonfiction filmmaking. "Charlie," also serves as my test-piece—proof or non-proof of where I can take this adventure filmmaking passion. If the reaction to this film is positive, the project may be entered into film festivals and other methods of publication. Thanks to everyone involved!

Outstanding job. Totally professional! I teach video and photography so I looked at it as a fan of the sport but also with a critical eye. Once again great job.

Outstanding +1

I found the soundtrack synced nicely with what was happening ta any given time.

I like the juxtaposition of screenshots. They broke the rhythm of the climbing action and allowed the viewer to take moment to absorb the climbing action as well as give it context.

Stellar cut, man! We also like to joke about not inviting Charlie to climbing comps in Missoula. Kid's the real deal!

Well done, I enjoyed it. Really good for a first effort. Good length, pacing, storyline and footage.

Keep it up.

The interview at the end credits was hysterical.

The most important part of story telling is making the audience care about the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed that. Well done!

Very good do not be so humble
As a story teller it came off
Very professional.

Your work stands up to almost any and all
Of the similar work that is out there.
The Big Up guys started the same way.
They still do it 'full immersion ' style.
"Charlie" a film, a story, a coming of age journey.
One mans arrival at the start of his destiny.
I look forward to watching both him and
All the folks that you take on your journey good luck thanx for posting!

Yup !!

watched it a second time.

Only one thing that sharp break & refocus on the Boulder problem Caveman, at 3:45 or there about,
The three breaks are a shame , his flow was on display as he moved up and the edits broke that flow.b

Who. What Where and When but missing the names and climbs of each of the other 'agitators' ;D
Some might call it foil for perspective or antics of the other climbers, to highlight the intensity of the project,
I know you did not ask . . . In the spirit of it was great
