John Crawley working the final moves of the Chalk ...

Description

The Chalk Troll is a classic boulder problem located in a cave along the base of the wall. Start sitting down and climb out the bulging overhang on excellent pinches. A difficult long move guards the final jug. Top out then down climb back to the jug and drop off. So far, this is the most difficult climb completed at Oaklands.

Location

Located in a bouldering cave along the base of the wall, about 5 minutes below the main section of cliff. Chalk Troll climbs out the left side of the cave, starting below the obvious scrotum-like bulge.

Protection

At least two pads are needed. I'd prefer about 5 for the last move.

Nice guys. I remember groping those holds during a rainstorm. Looked awesome, and looks even better now.

After clearing the trail past the cave, we couldn't let it just sit there. There are several other lines, and they just get harder.
