Short private property approach to BLM land.

Description

This north-facing crag gets AM shade, has great rock quality, and is host to several Unaweep gems. There is a strong potential here for route development.

Getting There

Chalcopyrite Wall is 1.3 miles west of Divide Road on the south side of CO Highway 141. There is a short, private property approach to BLM land, be as inconspicuous as possible when crossing private land. There is a decent approach trail to the west end of the buttress below Hand Jive. The approach to the east and middle is more bushwhacky but short. Traversing to the east from Hand Jive to the other climbs is tedious due to the scrub oak. The approach time either way is about 15-20 minutes.

No matter what route you do at this wall, the approach is the crux. Wear canvas.
