Anyone know if there are any chains or rings located near the ground at any crag near Chattanooga? I want to teach someone to clean and they arent comfortable with just being coached through it and then trying it at the top of the route. I know at some crags they will have a sort of practice anchor set up near the ground. Anyone know of any in Chattanooga?
Too many trips to Muir Valley, RRG? I scratched my head the first time I saw the bolts on the ground. Improvise an anchor setup as suggested. Trees are great, or a couple of eye hooks from the hardware store in some 2x4.
I have used University route at upper leda before. Its a short 5.6 and there is a path (climber's left) that you can scramble up to the top and sit right above the anchors. Not training rings exactly, but it has worked well for me in the past.
