Hello all, taking a trip down to the Santa Cruz/Big Sur area at the end of this month. Anybody have some suggestions for a crag to spend a day at? Camping close by would be nice.

Couple of hours south and you're at some good cragging in SLO:

I've never been to this place, but it's not too far from Santa Cruz, I think:

And then there is The Pinnacles. Some people love it, I don't think too much of the climbing, but it is a pretty and unusual area (hot in the summer):

Castle Rock State Park is in the mountains above Santa Cruz , great bouldering , but the roped climbing is short and average at best . Not much that I know of beyond beach bouldering as you head down hwy. 1 through Big Sur ... of course there is always Slate Spire

I'm heading to castle for the first time this weekend. Camping at Henry Cowell about 45 min south. Have sport set up and enjoy bouldering. Hit me up if you need a belay
