I am searching for East Coast partners for multipitch trad climbing in the 5.8-5.10 range. I have lots of time off this July where I could spend a couple of days at a time in New Hampshire. I have climbed extensively in CO, UT, and WA for the last 8-9 years, mostly trad and alpine, and have just recently moved back home to the East Coast (PA). Been spending this season at the Gunks so far, but am planning on one or more 2-3 day excursions up to New Hampshire this July, preferably midweek, and preferably if any cooler weather comes our way. Possible dates include July 10-11, July 18-19, and July 25-28.
I would like to hit all the classics on Cathedral and Whitehorse, and possibly Moby Grape on Cannon. Gunks day trips are fine as well. I'm a safe, knowledgeable, and experienced climber with all the gear, just relatively new to East Coast climbing, and looking for partners.
I need to be upfront, I am a newbie; big-time compared to your curriculum vitæ. Being new to the sport I posess much more enthusiasm than high level skill. I have taken an intermediate climbing class so I understand the basics of lead climbing. On the upside I am pretty much fearless. For local weekend trips(i.e. the gunks or the gap), if you don't mind educating someone a little, then reach-out.
Hey I can climb with ya on the 18-19. I live in Western Mass, I have some trad leading experience, but want to get some more. I have just about a full rack(missing a few small cams) and a rope. Contact me at 413-770-6799, or shoot me an email zr.despain@gmail.com
