Description
Castle Lake has about 2 dozen climbs with trad, sport and mixed lines. Solitude climbing at this crag and you are only .2 mile from the mirror lake highway. The only company will be your belay partner and the local pika. The routes range from 5.6 to a 5.12. This is a great place to warm up in the fall or on a cold morning, lots of sun.
Getting There
Park just around the corner past Camp Steiner coming from Kamas. Look for an old paved road going nowhere on the right side of the road. Currently it is blocked by boulders on the pavement. Travel up the hill across from where you parked heading North. .25 mile and your there. Hike over the talus to the crag.
