Countrymen,

I'm getting married and I'm heading out for some time in the wild before the big day. Looking to maybe do La Plata as well as climb around Independence Pass.

How is the dispersed camping around there???

We'd like to be able to be loud and not ruin anyone's evening.

Thanks for the tips!

Dan congatulations on your engagement. Try the abandoned quarry directly across from the Perry Park campground.

There area about 10 or so spots back in there that may suit your needs if others are not camping there.

This would probably be the closest area to the La Plata trailhead.

The dirt road leading up to the Mt. Elbert trailhead has some spots as well but is further from your objective.

Please be respectful of the area and pack out your trash and bury your waste.

Thanks Tom-onator!

We are also looking at Lincoln Creek? CHecking out the climbing as well as some of the surrounding 13er's to avoid crowds?

Thanks again!
