I'll be in the area next week. Is camping allowed near Las Conchas anywhere? Thanks!

Camping used to be allowed at the Las Conchas parking area just a few yards in but that area is closed to camping now. And doubly so since it's officially closed until October 1, 2013. Camping near the Cattle Call wall on the private land is discouraged and not recommended. For camping options I'd suggest one of the established campgrounds to the west on Highway 4 or to the east of Las Conchas in the Peralta Ridge area (not sure of the forest road number.)

Ideally free/undeveloped.

Do you know the names of the campgrounds?

The San Antonio Campground is the largest nearby campground. The Jemez Falls Campground is closer to Las Conchas. Also, I'd guess is less likely to have RVs and is further from the highway (less highway noise.)

Take a look at 35.81800, -106.50346 for free national forest camping.
