The tranquil Fern Lake, situated 1500' above the v...

Description

The June Lake Area has mainly bouldering, although there is limited sport and gear routes around. The main season for climbing is late spring through November, when the first snows of winter start to cover the approach roads to many of the areas.

All year climbing is possible at some venues, although during the winter months it is very much dependent on the weather.

The majority of the climbs are on volcanic tuff. The two outstanding areas about are the Bachar Boulders, and the Deadman Summit bouldering.

Getting There

June Lake is located West of the 395. From the Mammoth 395 junction head North for 20 minutes to reach the June Lakes turn.

The heel hook and dyno for the jug make this problem really fun....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
