Fun pockets and lots of quartz crystals in the roc...

Description

This formation is North of El Toro and closer to the various places to stay. It's blank face where routes were put in is obvious from the main road. This is an ideal spot to take beginners or to just get away from crowds at Mota Wall and other popular destinations with moderate lines.

Getting There

Vere towards Buzz Rock on the faint miner's road that leads to open pits scattered about the area. Make a bee line through cactus and brush to get to the base of the wall. No real path exists and you may find yourself taking a different way back from the way you came.

CONDITION REPORT

Definitely a cool place to climb though the trail is a little vague. The hike up alone is worth it for the cool / different views of the Potrero and Hidalgo.

Some of the routes are starting to have vegetation reclaim some of the holds, you might get a cactus tickling your face.

The chains at the top of a lot of the climbs are bleeding rust and very rusty.

Ok, the hike to Buzz is a pain. Make sure you stay on the trail or you will end up in cactus hell.

The climbs at buzz are fun, mostly single pitch moderates. It's far away from the "crowds" so you will likely be all by yourself, which can be really nice.

The climbs are easy/happy/fun. Not worth the hike unless you are looking to get away from it all and sharpen your leading skills on easy climbs.
