Working on a boulder problem in yosemite, can't remember the name of the problem

Thanks guys for the great info. @Mark Wyss I search like crazy and can never find cams for that cheap except for one time I saw 5 BD C4s from .5-2 for $250 as a package with free shipping. I wish now I would have jumped on that. I'll keep looking though.

Thanks to the guys providing some gear websites I have not heard about. With google now every ad that comes up and every time I search it always leads me to 3-4 sites including backcountry.com and REI. I think because I bought stuff from those places before. I also like Eric's idea of just buying one new cam a month.

The other thing about used cams on MP/ebay/craigslist they really do not seem to depreciate that much in cost. Most used cams on MP go for $30-$35 a piece not including shipping. (See there I go again talking myself out of of used cams)

Also as a couple of people suggested to learn more about climbing pro. My knowledge is pretty good. I've done a good bit of trad climbing in Yosemite when I worked there several summers ago. Just after I left Yosemite I was in Guatemala for a couple of years (just sport climbing), Thailand for a couple of years (some of the best sport in the world), and now back in Wisconsin where I definitely picked up skills in setting a variety of different kinds of top-rope anchors at Devils Lake.

11th hour of the Sundial

wait for a holiday, I'd put money on it come memorial day backcountry will run the 240 for .5-3 bd c4's again. they have a habit of running that price with the major sales. another store to watch is EMS, when they run their sales its usually pretty good deals on price as well.

A few times a year cams go on sale over 30%. Often you can find new cams for what people are willing to buy used cams for on MP and Ebay. In those instances it is worth buying new.

I pieced together a mostly used rack last year, but then the last few pieces I bought were I think $25 to $30 bucks each for C4's with Neutrinos, from some kid that was going to learn to lead and then never did. I think he placed a couple of them at the bottom of a sport route once. Literally I've seen more scratched up pieces with the tags on them in the store. Find someone like that with too much money and no common sense and then take advantage of it.
