Am I right on wrong to think that a broken spring on a sz 0 met powercam cannot be fixed?

Broken spring or broken cam stop leading to a unwound spring? I have never heard of the actual spring breaking. But in either case, if you send it in the manufacturer can fix it, but you wont be able to fix it on your own.

send it back to metolius ... or the retailer depending on their return polcy (REI, Backcountry)

The 90 deg bend in the spring that catches on the camstop broke off believe it or not. I assume that they cant disassemble the axle due to the welds to fix it.

Another positive experience with Metolius. I sent them pics of the cam and they are sending me a new one no questions asked. I love companies that still have that smallish feel to them and create and stand behind quality shit that works; and they are in the US. Bravo.

I had a cam stop that broke off of a purple mastercam and they are sending me a replacement. Pretty sweet.
