The Broken Moon Boulder - The arching prow is Brok...

Large bolder with distinctive prow feature.

Getting There

Walk down Welch Hollow Rd (a rough dirt road)5-10 minutes along the edge of the tree farm, down the big hill and cross a stream. Where it is posted to the left is Trust/Conservancy land with no climbing, but once past the gate posts it is Management Area. Just after the stream are two parallel stone walls heading off to the left. Follow them off into the woods for a few minutes. When you see the remains of a big tree house, the Broken Moon Boulder is just beyond.

I got back here the other day with Dana. It was very hot, but every thing seemed really hard. Even the sneaker problem took a couple tries, lol. Broken Moon spanked me and Vice Grip was ridiculous. There is potential here for some very hard projects too. Go on a cool day if you can. You will be dealing with hard slopers and very small crimpers on some of the projects. Bring a ladder if possible for scrubbing.

The problem to the right of Vice Grip is 3star problem. A V2/3 if I remember right possibly called "Lonely Planet". I only sent it because Mike G and Marc T gave me all the beta. Really fun and each move within the grade.
