it happend like this...

I got out of high school and booked it to the valley! I was more stoked then ever! my first summer season in yosemite with the skills to climb big walls! because last summer I had no freaken idea :( so I get there and start hiking water to the base of North America wall... I get my 2 ropes and 12 gallons to the base by thursday! then my partner shows up and we hike the rest... we wake up friday morning and try to blast!

with enough stoke to swim across the ocean I start pitch 1 and free climb about 15 feet before aid. then I place a red aien that was bomber, then to a yellow alien which was also bomber!!!! then to the god damn stupis beak that I placed for fun! I could have put a bomber cam above it but, I wanted to pull out the cool gear and start hand placing some iron!!!

MISTAKE...

the beak poped which sent me for ~10 feet, what should have been a very small clean fall turned into a fall that would now ruin my summer of fun awsome climbing on the captain... F*#K!!!

my sticky approach shoes catch little baby rail and as I fall my foot stops for a little. so I lower down and am instantly bummed when we find out this is not just a bruise... so now for the 5.14C descent...

we have a fellow monkey come up to get some gear down and I start my onsight 5.14C back to the car! my awsome EMT partner puts a splint on it made out of a spork and a nut tool... I have 1 bamboo stick to help and knee pads, I start off hoping then end up crawling most of the way... my foot hurting the whole way. when I get to the nose my buddy matt that is humping loads to the base of ZM for a solo gives me a shoulder and his bike for the last half! Thanks Matt! I hang with the monkeys for a while and some people look at it and even this indian dude that said he was a foot surgeon stopped by to check it! everyone said it was a sprain but one, libby sauter said it was most likely a fracture, which is actually good news sense those heal up nice and quick compared to sprains... So my trusty monkey friends load up my car and I decide that I should go home sense I cant find any crutches in the valley and I am tired of hopping with pain every where!

now for a 5.14B drive... I have a injured right foot that hurts like a mofo when ever it moves, wiggles, or touches anything, and a left leg that is too long and not the right leg for driving! I put my broke right leg over the center console and on the passenger seat, and drive with my left... 5 hours later I am home! now off to the ER... they XRAY it and see it is brokeen... but it is all very straight and hopefully does not need surgery, just all of summer in a cast :( so I write this from home with a leg in a splint that will be in a cast soon, and what I am asking from you guys is? what color cast would look best at the bridge? that shall be where I dwell this summer and cheer on my fellow monkeys on there climbs!!!

Well, Tom won't let you on the bridge if your wearing black, Grey, or White...I'd go something neon or you'll be ostracized forever.

Good thing you self-rescued. It would be embarrassing to have a YOSAR helicopter short haul you 30 feet to the ground. :) Keep the good stories coming!

Bummer on the ankle. Keep training and you'll be back in no time.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
